Opposition group National Unity Platform (NUP) is starting to witness gains from their continued pressing for release of detained comrades. According to NUP, a cumulative number of over 600 people have been in unclear custody since late last year. Yesterday, Kyotera residents celebrayed a light moment when 18 NUP members resurfaced in different parts of the district. The Uganda Police Force today (Monday) unveiled a fresh attire for the traffic Police. The unleashing was presided over by the chairman uniform committee of the police force AIGP Asan Kasingye. Simba Radio presenters under comedy group Bizonto have been arrested by Police for similar charges that prompted their initial arrest last year in July. According to the CID spokesperson, Charles Twine, the quartet was arrested on yesterday night (Thursday) and are to appear in court later today. “They are on their way to Buganda Road court. They had a sanctioned file for allegations of promoting sectarianism,” Twine said.
