Journalists have been barred from attending the hearing of the torture case filed against Security Personnel by Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament (MP) Francis Zaake Butebi. The Buganda Road Court has dismissed an application by City Lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi Kiwanuka that sought to compel National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine to appear and defend his true age. The Bishop of South Ankole Diocese, the Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe has implored churches to think about the use of mega phones to preach the gospel as the government is easing the lockdown restrictions across the country. A large fire has gutted the Makerere University main building, popularly referred to as The Ivory Tower. The building, that houses offices of the most university top management officials like the vice chancellor, the university secretary and the university bursar is the centre of all Makerere University operations. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has confirmed that they have lined up some 20 lawyers to handle electoral petitions arising from the recently concluded party flagbearer primaries.
