Last night, machete and gun weilding assailants invaded government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo’s home in Mukono with intentions of causing physical home, according to reports.
The yet to be identified goons, whose target our snoops suspect was the committed gov’t woofer, were unlucky to find that he wasn’t home and only found his wife and another unidentified girl.
Appearing on last night’s NBS Frontline, Opondo who had earlier on raised an alarm on Twitter, said she was contacted by his today to tell him that their Mukono home had been invaded.
“I immediately called the Mukono District Police Commander (DPC) and reported the invasion. My family was scared and I made the authorities aware. I am told they were holding guns and machetes and were checking bedrooms in my home,” OO, as he is popularly known said.
The Uganda Police acknowledged the disturbance call from OO’s home and said they had done everything to ensure that his family is safe. Although, they noted that they didn’t get the said assailants.
“I want to thank the Police for the quick response although they haven’t got the assailants yet. My family is secured. Some property and money taken. Investigations underway.” He later tweeted.
