Several things have happened in the past few months within this nation and the globe universally. Of these, some are seemingly contemporary whereas the rest are those we now have endorsed as normal thus having them incorporated into society.
At this point, it’s not news hearing that a politician so and so was charged with abuse of office, because as the script always is, soon they will be out sharing the road with us while still living large.
In our nation, one thing not to rely on is our attention span. It is almost like the entire population, like plants naturally do, is left to respond to external ‘stimuli’, get affected for a moment before-unlike like would be with plants this time-resort back to the posture we had prior to the provocations, occupied.
We hardly follow up on matters for long but thanks to the investigative journalists who try to resurrect matters and get a promising report before being silenced by we-never-know-who except by their vested name, “the mafias”.
A few days ago, a letter was written by the man mostly perceived as contradictory, Prophet Elvis Mbonye, to the church leaders. In it, he addressed the divisions many of these leaders had not only initiated but also aided for the most. It broke the internet and everyone was left to interpret it as they would prefer. At least, by reading, you could see the context clues of what he sought to address. Not long after, he has penned another one for the politicians and like is already the case with the clergy, we can finally use the biblical phrase of, “they are without excuse” this time about the politicians.
This message came in timely as per the man that wrote it. There is a thing about the political arena in this nation that needed to be talked about by someone without a state price tag. A person that would not sell their soul to the regime’s propaganda simply because they are put in places of privilege. Over the years, most of these regime’s critics have been silenced in the most outrageous of ways. “Money is the root cause of all evil,” and no wonder, many of these clerical leaders have been led to sermonize their political subscriptions rather than the word of God.
In an apparently democratic state like Uganda, freedom is merely illusional. The autocratic rulership is disguised as democratic. Nothing is actually real like presented because oppression is now ‘morally’ valid. Bazzukulu are disciplined by those who comprehend the law as they deem fit depending on what influences their current state. Nonetheless, the scripture says, “The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD” (Proverbs 16:33).
Scripturally, democracy is nonexistent, but always, God’s Word will prevail in a way or another. His decision is ultimate and must be treated as such. In his letter to the politician, the prophet cited those that seek to bring the nation into a place desirable to live and cared to show them what was required of them which was to surround themselves with men that hear God and can speak His mind and will unbiased. Unfortunately, the system in place has been reciprocated. Politicians choose to encompass themselves with men they had corrupted purposely to eliminate any chances of resistance and criticism from the ethical institutions.
It’s on this basis that some men are intentionally ostracized and denied full rights of practicing their religious freedoms unlike the former. In one of his interviews with NBS TV’s Solomon Sserwanjja, the prophet mentioned of a clique that has put scrutiny over his ministry and has desperately tried to suppress his ministry’s activities.
It has been in the media for years so that is known, or at least it is. In 2012, months before deploying Ugandan choppers to Somalia, during one of his weekly meetings, Prophet Elvis prophesied what he saw as a catastrophic mission. This happened twice and in his words says that he tried to inform the relevant authorities to terminate this mission but they dismissed his advise.
We know of the fatalities of the aftermath: a crash, loss of billions and yet the solution was as simple as, considering the prophet’s forewarning but they were hard hearted, not believing divine counsel over logical strategy.
Years later, these same people come out demanding that he should have alerted them about the current pandemic yet repeatedly have ignored him seeking to both impose and formulate laws that regulate how ministry should be done (If you recall the RFBO policy and the UCC communique that sought to ban any TV shows depicting prophecies, considering these to be occultic and misleading).
Prophet Elvis Mbonye also said that if it looks like, talks like or even walks like tyranny, it is not constitutional democracy, but rather a self-deluded arrogance. That is what it has been in this part of the world for decades; autarchy and assuming that each man has to be enslaved by the system until the hegemony is critic-free. We need a nation restored back to the values of what its founding fathers laid for a foundation. We need to have back that heritage we obtained when independence was given back to us where it is first for God, then my country, and not myself.
The politician has chosen to take the path of selfishness and possession of power is seen as opportune time to plunder national treasures and embezzle tax payers’ contributions to accumulate wealth. The erroneous mindset is that we assume, by taking power, one is saved decades of toil for wealth since everything is coming in effortlessly once they get into those high places.
Also, in the harangue, he writes expressly, “Dear politician, you can ignore God but you cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring God.” The trend has been about infiltrating the population with their propaganda and using whatever means to squelch every opposer, even to the extremes but we keep paying the price.
By ignoring God’s guidance, the nation has plunged further into the dark, to points where desperation is the spirit possessing the masses of our day. Not even with the endless prayer breakfasts have we resolved anything. We have lost our loved ones, squandered tax payers’ amassed efforts they forcefully render and tarnished the nation’s reputation because the leaders have an insatiable appetite to please themselves.
If this be the path we take, I’ll this time around wait for the part where he wrote saying, “In these last days, those who make themselves our enemies, that is, enemies of God, are setting themselves up for a fall.”
