Musician Angella Katatumba has responded to social media criticism over an earlier post she made after the unfortunate crash of basketball legend Kobe Bryant in a helicopter.
Katatumba likened the fallen LA Lakers shooting guard to her ex husband Alonzo who stays in Chicago, USA. She said everyone in their family used to say that he looks like the basketball star and that it was unfortunate that he had to pass on so soon.
“Oh noooo Kobe. I automatically liked you when I lived in Chicago, because everyone, especially my father in law, said you looked like my Ex husband Alonzo. May you rest in perfect peace. Thank you for your amazing talent.” Ms Katatumba posted on January 26th as soon as she learnt of Kobe’s death.
The statement caused social media uproar with critics saying she was not supposed to say that and that the opening statement was unnecessary.
“I want to make it very clear that I have never met Kobe and the statement I made was in light of how I came to like him because my father in law used to say that my ex husband looked like him. Nothing else.” She said.
The artist and ambassador further added that the statement was in no way mean’t to be disrespectful to Producer Daddy Andre, the man in her life now, and that he understands that she was married before she met him and therefore has no bad blood about it.
