The Organizers of the 2024 Nyege Nyege Festival, have revealed that the event is expected to provide a $10 million boost to Uganda’s Economy.
In a statement, the organizers revealed that the festival set to happen on November 14-17 at the Source of the Nile in Jinja City under the theme “Afroglantic Carnival,” will create 2000 jobs directly through the festival and a further 2000 jobs through the springing up of businesses to help facilitate visitors.
“Further economic benefits arising from the event include vendors being selected to sell goods and services, support services for the visiting artists, professional service companies support and accommodation and travel bookings,” the organizers.
They noted that this year’s edition will feature artists from Sudan, South Africa, Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of Congo, India, and Brazil, as well as all East African countries.
There will be special partnerships with cultural organizations representing all parts of Uganda.
