The management of elite restaurant chain Cafe Javas has succumbed to pressure by The Ugandan Wire snoops and finally released a statement following the allegations of a dead rat found in the milk shake of a customer.
For over 24 hours now, the restaurant has been fire fighting after a customer who ordered two milk shake takeaways alleged that she found a dead rat in one of them, a happening that the restaurant denies is due to their negligence.
In a statement released less than an hour ago, Cafe Javas denied any wrong doing or negligence on their part and exposed the customer as one that sought to blackmail them.
The restaurant says that they did due diligence on their part and reviewed the CCTV footage of the service of that particular customer and reported the same findings to her but she did not want to know.
“A quick investigation including a review of our CCTV footage of the preparation and service of the milk shake confirmed that there was no adulteration of the milk shake. The customer was duly informed of the findings to which she reacted by threatening to circulate a video of her version events if she was not paid a certain amount.” Management said in a statement.
The management says the claims on social media are in bad faith, untrue, malicious and intended to bring their business into disrepute.
