NO STATEMENT: Cafe Javas Silent on Allegations of “Rat” in a Milk-Shake

Elite restaurant chain Cafe Javas has for the last 24 hours been a subject of attacks on online after a customer allegedly discovered a dead rodent (rat) in a milk-shake they had ordered and taken out of the Javas Kisementi branch.

The customer, who ordered two milk-shakes with her husband, finished her cup and decided to treat herself to her husband’s smoothie as well as they were driving home only to discover a rat at the bottom of the cup.

According to her, she immediately vomited and suffered several other mental and body stresses in relation to the shock she had received in light of the discovery.

Her efforts to complain formally to the restaurant were futile as, according to her, the restaurant manager just told her to get a lawyer.

Cafe Javas, which operates a chain of restaurants in Kampala and Entebbe, has not formally come out to say anything on the negative publicity they have been swimming in for over a day now.

Instead, just a handful of well-wishers and influencers are defending the restaurant online and have been provided with video footage of their kitchen processes although none of the above has properly distanced them from the claims.

They are currently still riding on the “milk-shakes-are-blended-and-the-rat-would-have-been-in-pieces” rhetoric.
