Former Kampala City Lord Mayor and Presidential aspirant Al Hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala has passed on aged 72 years. According to family sources, the late had been admitted after falling in the bathroom while taking a shower. The Kampala High Court’s Civil Division will on 16th October, 2020 pronounce itself on whether presidential aspirant Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu’s  National Unity Platform (NUP) is legally registered with Uganda’s Electoral Commission. Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) founder and former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President Gen. Mugisha Muntu has visited Makerere University after the main building was gutted by fire twice in a single day. After close to seven months under lock and key, President Museveni has announced that schools will be allowed to reopen on October 15th, 2020. Speaking about the issue during his address to the nation, Museveni said that candidates in P7, S4 and S6 will be allowed to report back to school and finish their respective syllabi with the hope of sitting final year examinations. Kampala Woman Member of Parliament (MP) aspirant and former Makerere University researcher Dr. Stella Nyanzi was yesterday arrested at the boarder town of Busia in eastern Uganda. The Makerere University main building was gutted by strong flames last night that burnt down the building roof and sunk it in. The fire, whose cause is suspected to be electricity, broke out at about 1 am in the night and the Police Fire Brigade spent the entire night fighting to put it off. Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire has confirmed that the Force are hunting for two suspects who strangled and stabbed a one Batte Christopher, 58, a special hire driver in Mukono.
