The incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who is currently on a campaign trail in the Karamoja sub-region is scheduled to address NRM political leaders at a scientific meeting today in Kotido Town.
Pictures taken today showed supporters of NRM clad in yellow T-shirts marching in Kotido town holding posters of the NRM candidate Museveni.
Museveni was yesterday in Moroto in Karamoja sub region, where he met the NRM leaders of the region in a scientific meeting too. While speaking at the meeting, Museveni pledged to priotize commercial farming in Karamoja.
“We need a workout plan per homestead. How each homestead can earn income through commercial agriculture, we can look at fruits, cattle keeping, and goat keeping. But we need to work out a micro plan because the dams we were developing were at a distance where animals had to move distances to drink and comeback, but with the commercial farming, this would not be good,” Museveni said.
The First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni also urged the people of Karamoja to vote the NRM into power come the January elections so that their transformation journey can go on.
Among these include the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) candidate Mugisha Muntu, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Amuriat Patrick, Independent candidates General Henry Tumukunde and John Katumba.
