The State House Anti-Graft Unit of Lt. Col. Edith Nakalema has arrested two Ugandans for fraudulently acquiring land belonging to President Yoweri Museveni, privately.
The two men, Peter Segane and Jimmy Suuna were busted after a complaint reached the Unit alleging that the President’s private land in Katwekambwa, Kabulasoke Sub-County in Gomba District.
According to a letter that this website has obtained from Ms Nakalema, the two were arrested after investigations by the Anti-Graft Unit and the Uganda Police revealed that the two obtained the land using illicit means.
“Segane Peter and Suuna Jimmy has fraudulently acquired 5 land titles on land already registered in the name of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. We identified a number of lapses in the processing of at the levels of the Area Land Committee, District Land Board and the Ministry of Lands.” Lt. Col. Nakalema said in the letter.
She explained that she has since forwarded the files of the two suspects to the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (ODPP) and that whoever is found culpable will face the long arm of the law.
