Twitter’s Retweet Economy: Busiro South MP Aspirant Gives Social Media Influencer a Car

Twitter is known for many things and one among them is trolling, making unsolicited and controversial comments to provoke emotional knee jerk reactions from unsuspected readers, deep down to engaging in fights and arguments. These trolls can be terribly mean and the lowest of low when they choose to.

Yesterday Twitter was hit with the news of a one Ka Malaika who was presented with a Toyota Sienta car. The social media influencer had earlier asked for a car because she was tired of being hit by rain while delivering irish potatoes to her customers.

“Hey @HustleKing01, how many retweets for a car? I really need it. I’m really tired of walking to clean and delivering Irish on a boda. Please help me” Ka Malaika tweeted earlier.

Aspiring Member of Parliament (MP) for Busiro South Owor Paul requested that Ka Maliaka gets 1991 retweets and a car would be delievered. What started as a joke on twitter came to be true when the 3rd year Business student was given a car.

Many people have come out to hit out on young people for normalizing begging on twitter, one suggested that it is making many young people lazy as they can not work hard but rather wait to beg and be given.

Ka Malaika, real name Christine Joy Turamuhawe  is a 3rd year student pursuing a Bachelors in International Business from Makerere University Business School (MUBS).

Through her company CJay Home Solutions, she cleans people’s houses and washes clothes for money to settle her bills and upkeep without bothering her parents.

She is also the founder and CEO of Ka Malaika Foundation an NGO that supports less privileged and disadvantaged children to access education.
