A dream destination for you, for your friends and family, is one which you don’t just go to, it is one which you experience. A destination that gives you meaning, a destination that gives you the self-discovery, a destination that inspires you. It is from that background that we profile the Jacana Safari Lodge.

Uganda, the Pearl of Africa, as it is commonly referred to is a place rich in natural resources with nature atop the list. If you are one that would really want to discover your core self, you well know you will better find the answer amidst maximum serenity and that can only be found in the serenest places of the Pearl of Africa.

The Jacana Safari Lodge is located in the heart of the magnificent Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda. Surrounded by the Immaramagambo Forest, the second largest natural forest in the country, it is also referred to as “the lodge that grew from the forest”. It is positioned at the periphery of Lake Nyamusingire, Uganda’s biggest Crater Lake.

The lodge is 80% natural in terms of the architecture, the accessories and the furnishing.

You will be mesmerized by the fragile use of rocks, ropes, wood in its buildings’ design and natural furniture which blends well with the sweet melodies of the tropical hardwood forest giving you that total connection with nature.

The rooms and the public areas are elevated off the ground giving a tree house like appearance. The lodge is set on the brim of a crater lake with a lush vibrant forest that cascades down to the water edge.

The lodge has well designed accommodation with about 10 lavish chalets along with a family cottage. All the chalets have water closets, safes, wardrobes, ample outdoor verandahs and big windows allowing you the magnificent view of the forest and the lake as you enjoy your early morning breakfast.

The restaurant serves both international and local foods, the great Virunga Lounge with beautiful furniture next to the Sundowner Bar that overlooks Lake Nyamusingire allows you sip your beer or whiskey in maximum comfort as you enjoy DSTV, good internet and the beautiful sunset on the lake.

You will also find a swimming pool at the lodge for your warm afternoon where you can cool down after morning activities that include Launch Boat Cruising on Kazinga Channel, Kayaking on Lake Nyamusingire, Wildlife Drives along with game viewing, adventurous forest walks and you will end your day around a camp fire.

More interesting about this place is that it is located in the primate zone of the park where you will find chimpanzees, baboons, spider monkeys and climbing monkeys and will most likely interact with them frequently.
