Our sources in Tanzania indicate that over 50 people have so far died of the novel coronavirus. According to our source in the East African country, the government has been under declaring the intensity of the spread and locking up whoever questioned their means.
According to the Tanzanian mainstream Opposition, the government of Pombe Magufuli that has not done ‘enough’ to keep the virus at bay, has been also under declaring the statistics of its spread.
As such, they have decided to form an emergency committee which will publicise ‘accurate’ data of the situation out there. They gave out a number to the public, through which people can call and ask for help.
According to government information, Tanzania had 480 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday 30th April. Out of these, 16 people are died, while 167 have recovered from the virus.
The country has been under the spotlight after the President refused to lock it down as his neighbours had done. Instead he called upon the citizens to go to churches and pray to God for deliverance.
According to initial reports, Tanzania’s President Dr Magufuli said that he hasn’t shut the borders and put the country on lockdown because of the effects it would have on the economy.
He urged citizens to attend church services in mass mumbers to pray against Coronavirus because “it is satanic.”
