Yesterday, April 12, 2022, the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) Hon. Frank Tumwebaze together with State Ministers Hon. Bright Rwamirama, Hon. Hellen Adoa and Hon. Okasai commissioned the 7km Tisai road choke.

This road choke is being contructed by MAAIF under the Agriculture Cluster Development project and will cost Ugs 6billion.

This construction of this road which connects Kasai sub county to the Kasai Island will take 6months to be completed.

During the commissioning, Hon Rwamirama said that the road will connect farmers to the market and once the stretch is made, a litre of milk will be at the same price like that in Kampala.

Hon Rwamirama added that the ministry will improvise water for production, a milk cooler and a regional breeding centre.

While addressing community members at the commissioning, Hon Tumwebaze said that its the communities like Tisai that feed the country and that’s why agriculture funding should be prioritized. He added that the ministry will ensure that the whole value chain is in one place.
