Following the recently released parliamentary scorecard report where legislators were ranked in accordance with their performance, a number of parliamentarians have come up in arms against it.

Ronald Kibuule (MP), the State Minister for Water and Environment is not contented with the results as he was placed among the worst performing legislators of the 2018-2019 3rd year session.

The report was released by the African Leadership Institute (ALI) and Kibuule’s colleague, David Bahati, the Member of Parliament for Ndorwa West in Kabale was among the best performing legislators. Bahati is also the State Minister of Finance and Planning.

Among the attributes considered in the evaluation and ranking process was the members’ attendance in the legislative meetings, active participation, close bond with voters and bringing their interests on board to mention but a few.

In response to the report, Minister Kibuule who represents the people of Mukono County North challenged the results arguing that the evaluators should consult before coming up with lacking reports.

“I can’t be among the worst performing MPs. I have ably represented my people in Parliament and what we have achieved has been mostly because of my vigour in that house. The evaluators need to make more consultations.” Kibuule told a source.
