The latest from Banda based Kyambogo University suggests that the ruling NRM party is like God in the song lyrics, “He will find a way, where there seems to be no way” after it is clear that the yellow party will take over student leadership of Kyambogo University.

On Wednesday, Jonathan Tundulu the People Power supporter who had been guild president was impeached unceremoniously by the Guild Representative Council on grounds of lack of accountability, being big headed and concentrating more on People Power than the student guild.

As it stands right now, the Kyambogo Guild Speaker (a renown NRM cadre) shall be the interim guild president of the university in the absence of a substantive guild president.

Tundulu’s fortune ran out after his own cabinet ministers moved the motion to impeach him after he reportedly set up a commission of inquiry into their guild expenditures since they were spending lavishly with little accountability to show for it.

He has a chance to bounce back in case after the referendum that was set to decide his fate has majority students voting in his favour. In case he bounces back as guild president, all GRCs will lose their guild positions and voting will take place afresh.
