A man who was seen on social media attacking a female police officer during the recent protests against the arrest of the National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi has been charged and remanded to Kitalya Government Prison for aggrevated robbery.

The suspect Emmanuel Ssimbwa Ssebuliba a boda boda rider and a resident of Kikonko 1 Kirinya in Bweyogerere appeared before Buganda Road Court Magistrate Acaa Ketty Joan and was not allowed to say anything since the offence he allegedly committed is capital in nature and only tried by the High Court.

Simbwa is jointly charged with three others Godfrey Lubyayi, Semakula Muhammed, and Marvin Ahimbisibwe.

Prosecution alleges that the four and others still at large on 18th November, 2020, at Nakivubo Road in Kampala City robbed ASP Kasule Consilanta of her  techno mobile phone valued at Shs 150,000 using actual violence thereby causing her grievance harm.

They accused persons return to Court on 14th December as investigations into their case continue.
