Allan Bright Kagoro, the proprietor of Allan’s Resort in Fort Portal (Kabarole District) is one of the winners in MTN Uganda’s MoMoNyabo Together promotion after sweeping a whooping Shs 5M.
Mr. Kagoro, a player in Uganda’s tourism industry had been greatly affected by the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. He confessed that times have been hard as the airports remain closed and even local travellers are not moving as frequently as before.
MTN’s MoMoNyabo Together promotion has been a campaign where the telecom giant is giving away cash prizes to lucky winners who enter the draw through either dialing *165# or using the MyMTN app to buy airtime, data bundles as well as paying for any other service through MTN Mobile Money.
Kagoro, according to a statement this website has attained, plans to use the cash that he won to keep his resort business afloat.
“The hospitality industry was hit greatly because tourists are all home following the stay at home regulations. This is real luck!” Kagoro said.
While handing over the cheque to Kagoro, James Mulumbwa the MTN territorial manager of Fort Portal, encouraged the people of Fort Portal to continue using mobile money.
“Every week day, two MTN lucky winners stand a chance to win up to 5 million shillings. Apart from the winners called in studio, 250 people win 50,000 shillings directly every day. All you have to do is dial *165# or use the MyMTN app to pay for airtime, data, yaka, water among many things using MTN MoMo and stand a chance to win.” MTN Uganda said in a statement.
The live draws of the promotion are on every weekday at 8.20pm on NBS TV and Bukedde TV hosted by comedians Zahara Totto and Patricko Mujuuka.
