News coming in from Nakawa based Makerere University Business School (MUBS) is indicating that the guild officials are in plans of organizing the first ever ‘’Tuve ku Njaga’’ campaign.
Tuve ku njaga literally means let’s leave marijuana which is commonly taken by youths particularly university students without first knowing its effect to their life.
The campaign is organized by the MUBS Guild initiative under the current guild regime led by their guild president Romulus Tusingwire. The move is aimed at fighting against drug abuse and giving respect to persons with disabilities (PWDs).
In addition, they will also create awareness about the dangers of HIV/AIDS. The main event will happen on Tuesday 10th march 2020 in the ADB theatre at MUBS main campus starting from 2pm – 5pm.
Among the key note speakers of the day is male vocalist Dr. Jose chameleon who will be preaching the dangers of using drugs especially among the university students.
When someone is not stopped from taking marijuana he/she is likely to experience long term changes such as increased heart rate, chronic cough among others. Therefore this campaign is set to prevent the use and also to lay strategies on how they can deal with those who are already addicted to it.
