The Ugandan Wire has learnt that the Electoral Commission has suspended campaign meetings in highly exposed and spot on districts following the current exponential increase of covid-19 cases in Uganda.
Paul Bukenya, the spokesperson of Electoral Commission posted on his social media that campaign meetings have been suspended in districts/cities of Mbarara, Luwero, Kasese, Masaka, Wakiso, Kabarole, Jinja, Kalungu, Kazo, Kampala and Tororo.
Currently, the total number of covid-19 cases in Uganda stands at 33,360 with over 245 deaths.
