The Buganda Road Court has set free Forum for Democratic Change FDC’s flag bearer for Kampala Woman Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Stella Nyanzi after prosecution failed to bring witnesses to implicate her and others for allegedly behaving like a Common Nuisance to Society.

Nyanzi together with two Businessmen Godfrey Katongole and Newton Isaac had been accused of behaving in a manner not authorised by law; on 8th July, 2020 at Nakasero Market in Kampala;  by carrying placards written on,”We are Tired of the Lockdown“, “Using COVID-19 to Violate Human Rights” which behaviour caused inconvenience to the public.

Grade One Magistrate Acaa Ketty Joan dismissed the case after Prosecution’s Miriam Akite failed to bring witnesses to testify against them since their arrest in July 2020 to today 4th November, 2020.

Dr. Stella Nyanzi appeared together with her Lawyer Geoffrey Turyamusiima.
