The National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has announced the suspension of his campaign processions for tomorrow, 5th December 2020.

Kyagulanyi revealed through his social media pages where he indicated the decision was taken to mourn the untimely passing of Muslim cleric Sheikh Muzaata.

“Tomorrow we were supposed to be in Bulambali, Budekea, and Ngora with our message of freedom. However, in light of the untimely passing of our esteemed elder Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata, we are rescheduling this program to be able to mourn with his family and loved ones,” Bobi Wine announced.

Muzaata, who passed on Friday at around 3:00 pm, was rushed to International Hospital Kampala two weeks ago following a heart attack.

Muzaata’s brother, Mr. Siliman Ssemakula told reporters that he had been admitted at IHK for two weeks.

“He has been my best friend as well. He died from here (IHK) where he has been for two week,” Mr. Ssemakula said.

Rumors that the Sheikh had tested positive for corona virus were refuted by Supreme Mufti Sheikh Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa who said the Sheikh was negative when tested before his passing.

Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata Batte was known for his radical and blunt political rhetoric especially criticizing the incumbent government on issues of harassing his fellow Muslims and corruption.
