The Uganda Nurses an Midwives Union, has registered a loss of over 50 members following the second wave of the deadly COVID-19 virus that has hit the country. Terrorist group Al-Qaeda’s training manuals on how to make and detonate bombs were found and recovered from the homes of suspected attackers of former Army Commander and Works and Transport Minister Gen Edward Katumba Wamala, Police has said in a statement. The government of Uganda has declared July 1st 2020, as the start of harvest of the first season for Vanilla farmers across the country. Starting Thursday 1st July, 2021, Ugandans will start accessing Internet services and all other social media sites without paying the Over The Top (OTT) tax or using encrypted connections such as Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) in a new taxation module passed by the Parliament of Uganda. Consequently, the government has abolished the Shs 200 per day OTT tax and instead imposed a 12% tax on Internet data in the new financial year, which starts tomorrow (Thursday 1st July). President Museveni has promoted Gen. Wilson Mbasu Mbadi as the new Chief of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF). Mbadi, who has been a Lieutenant General has also been promoted to General. Gen.
