Dr. Henry Mwebasa, the Director General of Health Services in the Ministry of Health, who is on the frontline of fighting the deadly disease said, that Ugandans should now understand that COVID-19 is here and stop taking it as a joke or just a mere disease.
“The coronavirus we have is not different from the one in European countries or in African countries which have been severely affected, we need to be more vigilant and adhere to the Ministry of Health directives of sanitizing hands, maintaining social distance and putting on a face mask when ever we want to move out of their homes.” Dr Mwebesa said.
Currently, the number of confirmed cases in Uganda is 1,103 whilst those recovered is 975.
