Edrisa Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo bears a broader smile than before after the official communique unveiling him as the ambassador of the Uganda Tourism Board, an entity that overlooks the tourism industry in the country.

This move comes to revamp the industry that has been seriously “injured” by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. His long awaited stature has been a delayed one with latent dynamics.

Given his outstanding prowess in international relations; basing on his strong following, Kenzo’s appointment is no surprise. More so, he was the tourism ambassador to neighbouring Kenya which he probably forewent for the sake of his mother country.

An interesting feature in this partnership is that the remuneration is not salary based.

“I’m doing this for the love of my country” the singer stated. “Money was part of the issues in the fall out of the Kenyan deal but I’m doing this without financial terms.” Kenzo added.

The Minister of State for Tourism, Mr Kiwanda Ssuubi confirmed saying that the only payments will come in as allowances in form of accommodation and travel expenses whilst promoting the tourism industry.

Kenzo joins other big names on the entertainment scene like Fabiola and Zari. These have been a part of the board as ambassadors, and with a new face, probably the industry will sell the more.

Eddy Kenzo has headlined the showbiz world on both astonishing and quite unwell edges. Prior to this milestone, the Big Talent Boss has been subject to thorough criticism as far as his views are concerned on the trending presidential candidate – Kyagulanyi Robert alias Bobi Wine.

Little empathy was showcased to the proud BET winner. As this storm went down, the sun rose from Uganda Tourism Board. Kenzo’s stories have always been surrounded by controversies; this being indifferent. Some view it as political given the preceding occurrences in Ugandan volatile politics and personalities.

On the other hand, it’s been coming his way and the deal seemed inevitable regardless of the numerous hindrances. Hopefully he will live up to the expectations of all.
