According to Afrobarometer, the non-partisan, pan-African research institution conducting public attitude surveys on democracy, governance, the economy and society in 30+ countries in Africa on a regular cycle, the survey polled 2400 Ugandans between December last year and 11th January 2021 with a reported error margin of 2% and 95% confidence intervals . The research found out the Museveni is the most popular candidate ahead of 2021 general elections.
The survey ranked Museveni at 98% and Bobi Wine at 90% FDC’s Patrick Amuriat at 48%, independent John Katumba at 36%, Mugisha Munt uat 25%, Norber Mao at 24% and Tumukunde at 21 % according to popularity.
Asked on who they would vote during elections, 53% were in favor of the incumbent Museveni and 18% to Bobi Wine with the rest 5% fronting other candidates. 22% of the correspondents declined to disclose their sides according Afrobarometer.
