Flamboyant city lawyer and legislator Abdu Katuntu has said that State Minister for Privatization Evelyn Anite does not deserve to be a minister and should be somewhere at Makerere University with fellow campusers who work and behave like her.
While appearing at Capital FM’s political talk show, The Capital Gang, Katuntu said by the way the embattled minister has handled herself in recent days, she doesn’t deserve to be addressed with the title of minister, let alone, Hon.
The Bugweri County Member of Parliament criticized the MP for playing the tribal card when “the mess” she put herself in blew out of proportion.
He was joined by NRM’s Lydia Wanyoto in that argument. She reasoned that at the level Anite is at, as Minister in Uganda, she represents the whole nation as a whole and it is childish of her to want to bring up tribalism as the source of her troubles.
Anite has been in battles of supremacy with the Registrar General of URSB, who is also the Administrator General of UTL over matters to do with the struggling government owned Telecommunications Company. She was recently lined up for investigations by the IGG over a secret trip to the Seychelles.
She appeared before media during the week to cry out for help over “mafias” that are threatening to take her life, Abiriga style. She said they claim the government belongs to Banyankore.
