Former Makerere University Researcher and other Ugandans including famous ‘Byivulu‘ promoter Bajjo have today been arrested by Police for protesting what they termed as ‘slow distribution’ of relief food.
The were protesting from Kampala City Center where they were seen carrying posters saying they are tired of the lockdown and can no longer manage to feed their families.
The Police flew in action, arrested and took them to Kampala Central Police Station.
“Many Ugandans have been excluded from the distribution of food relief by a hastily assembled military outfit. Churches, mosque and other civil society institutions that have closer ties and networking within their communities were unfairly denied a chance to help their communities in the time of need and yet they would have been instrumental in mobilizing and distributing food with clear guidelines,” Dr Nyanzi said before her arrest.
