The UPDF High Command has met at State House Entebbe.
According to a source familiar with the agenda of the meeting, the High Command, one of UPDF’s top decision-making bodies, reviewed ongoing operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Somalia.
The meeting chaired by President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the Commander in Chief of the armed forces, also reviewed the general security situation in the country.
The meeting was attended by top UPDF leadership including the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and his Deputy Lt Gen Sam Okiding. Others who attended include the Commander Land Forces Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga, Reserve Force Commander Lt Gen Otema Awany, Commander Airforce Lt Gen Charles Okidi, and SFC Commander Maj Gen BD Mugisha among other service commanders and chiefs.
The meeting was also attended by officials from the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs, including the Minister, Jacob Oboth Oboth, the State Ministers, Huda Oleru and Sarah Nyirabashitsi, and Permanent Secretary Ms Rosette Byengoma among others.
