A fresh development that has reached our snoops on the plight of former staff of tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia’s Sanyu FM that have been shown the exit after protesting pay cuts when management thought to take off 25% off their payments during the COVID-19 times.
Insider information reveals that billionaire investor Sudhir personally ordered the security at Crane Chambers to lock out James Onen (Fat Boy), DJ Xzyl among other staff members at the radio station because they were protesting and he wanted them fired.
“We worked every single day after lockdown. Some of us didn’t get stickers or had no cars to move but we ensured that we reached work early enough to keep the station running through the COVID-19 times, and now they take 25% off our salaries?” A former staff disclosed to our reporter.
She further highlighted that radio presenters and workers in production don’t get a lot of money as listeners may assume much as the stations earn hundreds of millions every month and that even 5% would barely have them satisfying their needs like home bills and utilities.
“We cannot access Crane Chambers. The askaris and security have our faces and have been ordered by Sudhir not to let us in. This is an impunity that the entire country needs to know about and fight that it doesn’t happen anywhere else.” Our source further disclosed.
Efforts to reach management of the radio station for a comment have been futile ever since.
