At least two people have been confirmed dead and several others injured in
a motor accident that occurred today morning along the Kabale – Kisoro road.
The accident occurred today morning around 9:00am at at Kagano Village,
Muhindura Parish, Kanaba Sub County in Kisoro District when a motor
vehicle, registration number UBB 632V ISUZU that was carrying traders,
timber and other goods, coming from Kabale going to Kisoro, failed to
negotiate a sharp corner, veered off the road and overturned.
Alex Hakizimana, an eye witness said that the vehicle was heading to the
daily market in Kisoro Municipality. Hakizimana said that the deceased were hit by their goods. He added that the injured were being rushed to Kisoro Hospital and Saint Francis Hospital, Mutolere while the bodies of the
deceased were still lying at the scene.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate confirmed that two people died on spot and said that more details will be revealed later.
