Tubing On the Nile: An Exhilarating Experience

Tubing on the Nile is a hot activity going on at the River Nile at the moment. It is not a trip to Jinja now, if you don’t go Tubing. As Q Safaris Africa, we had a group trip to Jinja and Sipi recently where we had a number of activities including tubing and many other but I will focus on tubing.

After hiking and viewing Ssezibwa Falls, our super excited selves headed to Bujagali, Jinja. This is the home of the most looked to adrenaline activities in Jinja, if not in the entire country really.

On arrival, we were given a thorough orientation and forms to fill where you write down your bio data and any other relevant information. It’s done to give relevant information that can help guides or kayakers to know how to handle you and also to know if you require special attention during the exercise.

We then embarked on our adventure starting with a boat cruise to the starting point and all this was organised for us and arranged prior since we were a huge number.

Tubing is an activity done by connecting together tubes where someone sits and then connected to a kayaking boat which is controlled by a kayaker. In groups of six, the adventure began.

Taking approximately 3 hours on flat water, there are two types of tubing; Flat water which is for waters without rapids and falls and white water with rapids and falls. The experience is amazing but I will warn you, it is not for the faint hearted. Some had feared and later conquered it but others refused to do it at all

As regards safety on water, and guys with no swimming history, the activity is absolutely safe with life jackets and a standby team on the cruise. Both hard and soft drinks are served as part of the package with photography and snacks, if you go with a legitimate Tour and Travel agency, like we did with Q Safaris Africa.

Our adventure was knitted with heavy rain throughout and trust me, saying that it was amazing, is an under statement. Choose any word you want really, to describe what I just narrated.

Individually, and as an enthusiastic traveller, I would recommend the activity and give you assurance that it’s safe. At Q Safaris Africa, they have the activity of tubing in packages for both small groups and big groups. The charges depend on the size the group and they can do both one day and more days or with more activities in Jinja ranging from Boat Cruises, Horse Rides, Quad Biking and other activities.
