A Ugandan Twitter user (@_MuGisha_) has sent People Power Principal and Kyadondo East Member of Parliament (MP) back to bed for ‘ranting about privilege yet he is one of the privileged Ugandans’.

The government of Uganda, through the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Ministry of Health authorised city tycoon Ben Kavuya to jet his family back into the country from the United States of America (USA) amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In the letter from Dr Henry Mwebesa, the Director General of Health Services in the Ministry of Health, the government acknowledged inspection of premises in Kololo that will house Barbra Kavuya, Blanche Kibaju and Isaiah Tiba Byabashaija who are members of the tycoon’s family for the mandatory 14 days of quarantine.

“Many Ugandans stuck abroad are suffering. “THE AIRPORT IS CLOSED” they’re told. Our request to airlift those in China was rejected! Yet, those who think they own our country have continued to fly in with relatives & cronies! We must fight on until we’re all EQUAL in this country!” Bobi Wine tweeted.

In as much as the People Power leader was raising important points, a Ugandan – Mugisha though Bobi Wine’s talk about privilege was misplaced since he has also benefited from it in the past.

According to Mugisha, Bobi Wine’s first born Kyagulanyi Kampala, joined St. Mary’s College Kisubi with aggregate 12, the last mark in first grade – way beyond the school’s cut off points. In the past years, SMACK has been known to admit only students with 4, and 5 aggregates.
