2 National Resistance Movement (NRM) Political rivals in the Mawogola -North MP race have agreed to resolve their differences in Court after Sodo Kaguta allowed Shartis Kuteesa Musherure to join the case he filed last month as the second respondent.
Sodo is challenging the refusal by their Party NRM to announce him as it’s official Candidate for Mawogola North Constituency but Musherure says she holds the same view with the NRM Electoral Commission and the party Central Executive Committee (CEC) that neither herself nor Sodo won the contentious party primary election in Mawogola North.
It is now left for Presiding High Court Judge Musa Ssekaana to decide whether Sodo’s claim is competent before court and whether the decision of the NRM Party was illegal, irrational and procedurally improper and what remedies are available to the parties.
Justice Ssekaana says he will pronounce himself on this matter on 21st December, 2020 via email.
Musherure Kuteesa the daughter to Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kuteesa and Sodo Kaguta a relative to incumbent President M7; are dully nominated independent candidates for the post of Mawogola -North constituency in Ssembabule.
However Sodo petitioned Court seeking orders compelling NRM’s Electoral Commission to announce him as the NRM Flag bearer saying he emerged the winner in the concluded Primaries; but that the NRM sat on his appeal.
