Rukiga District Headquarter offices have been temporarily closed after
eight staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
The Rukiga District Chief Administrative Officer, Fredrick Ssemogerere, told our reporter today on phone, that the staff and the general public have been advised not to visit the district headquarters from today up to Monday.
Ssemogerere said that the decision to close the district headquarters offices was arrived at in order to reduce tension from other staff in the district. He added that all the staff at home will remain on call depending on the workload.
The acting Rukiga District Health Officer, Dr. Gilbert Ahumuza, said that out of the 78 district staff and one community members who tested for COVID-19 on Monday, the results of eight staff members and a community
member turned positive.
