The government of Uganda has decided to open public transport after more than two months under suspension.
The president, while addressing the nation, declared that government had agreed to re-open public trannsport but only under restricted measures.
“We shall allow public transport to operate again but under restrictions. The buses, taxis and mini-buses will start operating.” Museveni said.
The president emphasised that while in operation, the public transporters must carry only passengers with masks that will be supplied by the government within 14 days.
Additionally, that they should carry half of their original capacity to ensure social distancing within the vehicles.
