News reports from the United Kingdom confirm that Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth II’s son and heir to the England throne has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is self isolating in Scotland.
The Prince, 71, is the father of Prince William and Prince Harry and was formerly married to the world famous Lady Diana Spencer who passed on in 1997 in a tragic car accident.
His curret wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, has been tested also and does not have the virus, according to a statement from the royal family. His mother, the Queen also remains in “good health” according to the Buckingham Palace and the 93-year-old monarch has cancelled all public events she was bound to attend “as a sensible precaution.”
Along with her husband, 98-year-old Prince Philip, the couple moved to Windsor Castle on Thursday, a week earlier than planned and she is expected to stay there beyond the Easter period.
‘The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus. He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual. It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.” A statement from Palace officials reads.
Prince Charles is the eldest child/son of the Queen and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Being over 70, he is considered to be at higher risk than average people for coronavirus.
