President Museveni, in his latest address to the nation has given a green light to some Arcade owners in Kampala to resume but with strict and clear Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs).

Museveni, who hailed Uganda’s frontline health workers for their spirited fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, observed that Uganda would have been worsely hit if the population had refused to follow guidelines.

He announced that with consultation from scientists, the government has agreed to open some arcades in Kampala as long as they observe strict adherance to the said SOPs.

“There are some 230 Arcades in Kampala. I am however told some of them don’t have toilets. We shall close those, permanently.” Museveni observed.

Of the 230, government has allowed 110 Arcades to begin operations effective immediately.
