President Yoweri K Museveni has expressed dismay about National Media’s Newspaper Daily monitor’s false publication regarding Covid-19 vaccination. Last month, Daily Monitor quoted the Wall street journal’s post which claimed that the President and his inner circle members had received Covid-19 vaccine shots from China. The news was rubbished by the Ministry of Health since at the time, no vaccine had been imported until late last week.

The fountain of honor did let the matter slip away with a firm threat saying, “In the meantime, I am going to make some money from Daily Monitor. They lied that I had been vaccinated together with my wife. I am going to make them bankrupt unless they apologize and lie down. I’ve already filed a case in court.”

The remarks came in the president’s oration to celebrate this year’s Women’s day celebrations at state house Entebbe. Mr. Museveni lamented on his government’s course to support the female gender basing on affirmative action.

“If you really want women to have a voice, you can’t go by one person one vote, you will have inbuilt marginalization. That is why the NRM thought of affirmative action”, Museveni emphasized.

The President as well hinted on social economic transformation where by and not conservatism that burdens the ladies.

“Janet here has never carried a baby on her back; the children were pushed in the prams. We should stop wasting time talking and talking. Janet is here, it’s not fiction, she’s not a horse. We are talking about social economic transformation,” he added.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the United Nations and European Union delegates who are relentlessly vocal about gender equality in developing nations.

The state Minister for Gender culture Peace Mutuuzo added her voice to the day’s theme “challenging to change” through putting an end to domestic violence.

“I implore all Ugandans to take all measures possible to stop any form of violence against women and girls. We thank the Government for the support given to our flagship programs”~ Minister Peace Mutuuzo
