It is day two at Makerere University as students from three colleges were conferred upon degrees ranging from Diploma level to PhD. The event, that is happening at the Freedom Square in the heart of the oldest university in Uganda, is a continuation of yesterday’s that was graced by Minister of Education Janet Museveni and Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda.

Today, students from the College of Business and Management Sciences (CoBAMS), the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS) and the College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Bio-security (CoVAB) received their honours from the university Chancellor and Former Uganda Cabinet Finance Minister Prof Ezra Suruma.

The overall figure of the graduating lot that is covered between Tuesday 14th and Friday 17th January 2020 is 50.5%:49.5% Female to Male graduands and according to university channels, it is a major score in this University’s history.

“For the second year in a row, Female graduands have remained slightly above Male at 50.3% to 49.7% in 2019 and 50.5% to 49.5% in 2020” Makerere University tweeted yesterday.
