Police and the State House Anti-Corruption wing have, today evening, discovered beans, maize and other items at the home of Martin Owori, the Commissioner Disaster Preparedness and Head of COVID-19 relief management in the Office of the Prime Minister.

Mr Owori, was among the 4 OPM officials arrested yesterday by Lt. Col. Edith Nakalema after the Anti-Corruption team were tipped off that some officials in the OPM were inflating product prices to gain illicitly.

Today, the team raided Owori’s home and recovered relief items meant for the COVID-19 relief. The items included beans, flour, sewing machines and jerrycans among others.

The Uganda Police has pledged support for the anti-corruption unit of State House and acknowledged sending experts to join the team and getting to the root of the scanal.
