National Resistance Movement (NRM) 2021 Presidential flag bearer President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni launched his official campaign in Greater Luweero yesterday at the Kawumu Presidential Demonstration Farm.
Accompanied by party leaders from the Secretariat and mobilizers in Luweero, the President avoided crowded spaces in order to respect the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that government set in respect to COVID-19.
“I would like to disabuse you of your intention to want to show our might and numbers by lining on streets. There is no need for excitement, let us keep calm at home and sow the NRM message.” President Museveni told his supporters later in the evening.
Mr. Museveni is expected to travel to Lango Region for the later part of the week where he will meet NRM leaders and flag them off to conduct the party door-to-door campaign.
He is using the slogan “Securing Your Future” which observers note is targeted at youths and young people that may be excited by the politics of the day and forget that their future is at stake.
