Last month the Ministry of Public Service said while giving out its accountability on the NRM Manifesto that significant progress has been made in the enhancement of salaries of various public servants as part of the Government and NRM commitment.
However, according to the news we have obtained, the ministry spends over Shs 2.5bn every month paying 7,000 ghost pensioners. The Minister of Public Service Muruli Mukasa confirmed these facts.
This comes after the same minister claimed that over 7874 ghost pensioners have been deleted from the payroll while evaluating the NRM Manifesto last month.
