Coleta Ainomugisha, the outgoing Ihunga Sub-County Chief has been awarded a She-Goat for a job well done. This was at a farewell ceremony for the Chief who has been transferred to Itojo.

At the same ceremony, cvil servants in Ntungamo District and the country at large were urged to enhance transparency and integrity if they are to improve service delivery to all Ugandans as it is expected.

According to the Ihunga sub-county speaker Glory Atuhaire, civil servants should be exemplarily in order to implement government programs and fight against corruption at local governments.

Speaker Atuhaire made the remarks on Tuesday during the Ihunga sub county council meeting which coincides with the farewell of outgoing sub county chief Ainomugisha who has been transferred in mini reshuffle made by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Ntungamo Hanny Turyareeba recently.

Ms Atuhaire commended the sub county chief Ainomugisha for exhibiting high degrees of transparency, integrity  and corruption free, appealing to other civil servants to borrow a leaf from her for better service delivery.

Atuhaire asked all employees to be trustworthy if their areas of jurisdiction are to be developed.

In his submissions, the Ihunga sub county chairperson Jackson Rubagyera hailed Chief Ainomugisha for transforming the sub county during her three year tenure from grass to grace where it was constructed and shifted to its permanent administration block in Kyenkuku.

Rubagyera asked both civil servants and political leaders to always detoxify their work environments to improve service delivery like what Chief Ainomugisha did.

He also implored the local leaders and general public to adhere to standard operating procedures as set by the Ministry of Health to contain COVID-19 saying that there has been laxity in implementing them.

Rubagyera used the occasion to thank the people of Ihunga Sub County for entrusting him with the mandate of serving them for the last 20 years assuring them that he will not stand again.

The outgoing Ihunga sub county Chief Ainomugisha attributed her success since 2017 to cooperation among technical staff and political leaders at all levels.

Ainomugisha highlighted what has been done during her tenure including lobbying of Kitondo Health Centre II Outpatient Department (OPD) which will be constructed at the cost of Shs 300M, construction of administration block, what is being done and what to be done.

The climax of the council meeting was awarding a certificate of appreciation and a she goat to Ainomugisha for her splendiferous work done at Ihunga Sub County.
