The previously concluded Nkumba University Guild elections can’t seem to get enough of the lime light with all the drama and comedy.
The Ugandan Wire has learned, a one Paddy Lwazi, one of the defeated Nkumba University Guild aspirants and People Power activist angrily shut down his WhatsApp campaign group after scoring only 8 votes in the previous elections.
The WhatsApp group was a platform which was created for every form of communication and updates on the aspirant’s campaign progress.
The Group which contained over 250 people was with no doubt, false hope for the defeated fellow which left him in query of how many people actually voted for him.
“The elections ended and it’s time to move on. Why should I still entertain over 250 people who kept masquerading as my supporters. Imagine, out of all those people in the group and I score only 7 votes. I even doubt if those 7 votes came from within the WhatsApp group members. I spent my time and money, and I’ve lost it all to nothing so it’s time to venture in other things” Lwasa told our reporter.
The Nkumba guild elections were held over the weekend which saw Sunday Amagule, who is now officially sworn in as Guild president, emerging as the overall winner with 378 votes followed by Opira Otaremwa who attained 304 votes losing to his rival by only 74 votes.
