Up to nine people have been sentenced to pay a fine of Shs 200,000 each for defying Presidential Curfew Orders and Directives.
Kampala City Hall Court Grade One Magistrate Valerian Tuhimbise said if any of them fails to pay the fine, he/she should serve one month imprisonment.
They were convicted on their own plea of guilty to charges of disobedience of lawful orders issued by President Yoweri Museveni in a bid to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Prosecution led by Viola Tusingwire alleges that on Monday 23rd November, 2020 at Kigowa Zone in Kampala, the group was found moving after 9PM.
