The returning officer of Ssembabule District Mr. George William K has today declared President Museveni’s brother Sodo Aine Godfrey Kaguta the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Flag Bearer for Mawogola North Constituency, beating his closest competitor Shatsi Musherure Nayebare Kutesa with 17,343 votes that represented 46% of the vote.
Ms Kutesa, the daughter of Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kuteesa secured 16,104 votes which represented 42.7% of the poll and a one Salim Kisseka, the last aspirant who secured 4,274 votes which makes up 11.3% of the vote.
In the other election in Sembabule, Mawogola West, Ms Hanifa Kawooya polled 15,923 votes that represented 54.8% of the poll beating Mr. Joseph Ssekabito who got 13,143 that is 45.2% of the poll.
In the district Woman Member of Parliament (MP) slot for the district, Ms Mary Begumisa won with a whooping 73,940 total vote count that made up 72.9% of the poll. Ms Jovanis Twongirwe came second with 16,448 votes that made 16.2% of the vote with Faith Arinaitwe getting 11,011 that makes up 10.9%.
