President Museveni, in his latest address to the nation, has extended curfew hours and allowed Boda Boda riders to resume operation after over 4 months in total lockdown due to COVID-19.
Curfew that has initially been starting at 7pm every night till 6am in the morning has been extended to begin from 9pm and end at 5:30am every morning.
This, Museveni explained was influenced by advice from scientists to lessen the burden of beating 7pm curfew on the working population that is struggling to make ends meet after months of no work.
For Boda Bodas, he explained that they’ll resume operation on July 27th, 2020 after thorough understanding of their operations by the Ministry of Works.
The President rejected proposals to open Churches and other places of worship and announced that those shall remain closed.
“For schools, we shall have got a way forward by September. We shall decide on whether to declare a dead year, or to open for candidate classes by then.” Museveni said.
