Members of Parliament (MPs) who last week were instructed to return Shs 20M COVID-19 money have now received Shs 40M in appreciation for supporting the motion that seeks to recognize president Museveni for management of the coronavirus pandemic, we have learnt.

According to MPs who were not party to this, 317 MPs received this fat pay out. All legislators who participated in the motion to appreciate President Museveni for his fight towards fighting COVID-19 received good news of Shs 40M for the amazing work done.

Angry MPs who missed out on the token said that some people are taking this situation into a business opportunity revealing that government has spent over 12Bn on the President’s appreciation alone.

The Government Chief Whip Ruth Nankabirwa however denied these allegations saying that they are far fetched and baseless.

Some MPs went ahead to punctuate Ruth Nankabirwa as a chief briber and a conduit for all bribes.

They also revealed that MPs are on the verge of receiving Shs 60M to pull out from the motion that demands that NSSF give out part of the savings to people registered with the Fund.
